Some people who have been there say it’s actually the best in the whole of Watamu town, leading other top north restaurants line Prawns Lake Restaurant, Marafiki Restaurant, Marina Restaurant, Luwa beach restaurant and many more. Located in the beautiful Watamu town, approximately 45 minutes from the Watamu stage, Crab Shack is owned and run by the community. You can take a tuk tuk for a 10 minute ride to the amazing restaurant where every taste tells a story.
Upon arriving at Crab Shack Restaurant, you will stroll over a 200 metre boardwalk among the greany leafy mangrove trees towards the restaurant which boats panoramic views. The restaurant is open from 10 am-10 pm. You can choose to visit it in the evening to have a beautiful view of the yellow and glittering rays of the sun as it sets in the Western horizon. The amazing menu served here mostly includes sea foods but if you are a vegetarian, there is no need to worry. The menu includes the following; Crab Samosas, Oysters, Prawns Cocktail, Chicken Grill, Beef Grilled, Grilled Fish, Grilled Lobster, Grilled Calamari, Grilled Octopus, Grilled King Prawns, Steamed Fish and more.
The staff is friendly and you can be assured a moment to remember. If you are a marine life lover, you can take a canoe ride amonng the mangroves and pay a visit to the Mida Creek where beautiful flamingos sleep.
